Avira antivir is a great and free antivirus. You should totally try it.

Suggest MalwareBytes Anti Malware.
Its an awesome program. But doesnt scan realtime. Only when you want to ;)

It would do you good to read the thread and know it has been resolved, plus your suggestion has already been mentioned.

There is many free antivirus. But I will Recommend you to use Avast. It's good and works great. Telling this from my experience.

1.Microsoft security essential is a good option because its FREE and
gives good protection....and its good for windows 7 & vista system
[specially designed]....

2.Bitdefender or Avira both are awesome..

3.malwarebyte's antimalware bast tool for removal of malwares.

4.spybot for spyware removal.
