I have a Freecom external usb hard drive 80gb and as i was using it properly now it is not recogniced by the windows....the H.D is not damaged as it's working(making a noise and the blue led is on)any ideas?
Try using Hirens bootcd, it might help you a bit.. Also, is the blue led supposed to be on?? And i know it's hard, but could you try explaining the sound?
sometimes if you dont safely remove it from windows it'll do that.My friends does it all the time. Try turning off your computer with the usb plugged in and turning the computer back on.
@fade i 've tried million times...
@codine yea the blue led i supposed to be on...now about the sound it's like u are trying to burn a cd/dvd but a lot more quiet
when i plug it in the computer it is shown at my desktop next to the clock that a usb device is plugged..
Have you tried removing it, rebooting your system and then plugging it back in?
yeap already done it but nothing...
Try using that hirens bootcd, and checking for errors on your hdd.. If no luck there is a couple of other things i'd like you to try, but try the hirens bootcd first.

That's what you need yes, and lots of tools, but it is a very handy disc.. You will be suprised how many times you will use it after you've burned it.
lawl i don't see any download button...:S
