There already plenty of sites like that. For examples, New York Times, CNN, Fox, CBS, NBC, MSNBC etc. How will you get "news"?

What about game/movie reviews?

You can if you can get access to a lot of games or money to buy them to make a review.

Starting a review anything website is pretty difficult these days because people look for the websites that are going to have the content first, which is mainly the websites that have already been up for quite some time. For example, the Android fan site my brother writes articles for, Android Police, usually get special "review models" sent to them before the real thing is released to the public, that way they can review it and then post the review on their website for people to see. Most sales people aren't going to be interested in having these special connections with small website, they'd rather trust the large websites that they already know are legitimate. That being said though, everyone starts somewhere, so you never know whether you'll be one of the big websites one day, only time and hard work will tell.
Good luck with your project, whatever you decide to do.
