Linux has potential. Depends now if they take the chance. Macs are getting cheaper, windows is getting more virus's. I think windows will start to lose there shares and linux and mac will make gains.

You never had that problem because you stick to popular distros with big communities.
If you tried RHEL a few years back, you'd most likely start off with a very limited resolution and not working wireless and would have to mess around with ndiswrapper for a few days just to get it to work like I did.
