Every appstore app free, many new features, (Like Irc,Themes,Sounds, and any tools from games to hacking)
Battery life is one of the cons though if you don't download any tweaks or themes your battery life won't be affected much.
Can't you just factory reset it if you need to send it back?

Yes, i believe you can. You just have to download the original pack if you did not back up.

Bottom line: Little to lose, alot to gain.
Battery runs out quick.
Can run a bit slow.
Voids warranty.
BUT LOTS OF PRO'S.
The current array of Iphone/Ipod viruses only affect jailbroken ones..
My mate said that Apple can deny to fix anything if it has been tampered with.
There are a few con's.
- If you brick your iDevice, there's no chance Apple will fix it under guarantee, even if it's just a scratch. So before sending anything in into Apple WIPE YOUR DATA
- Battery life decreases over what you install, SSH is a big no go as it eats your battery.
I recommend reading this informative topic about jailbreaking:

Yes the only con is no more warranty for you.
