Hi,

I was at the Rage expo here in SA this weekend and it was great!!!

I bought my first terabyte there but now i can not seem to get it to work!

When I plug it in, it shows in the raid thing in bios but not in windows, or disk management.

I plugged it into my brothers computer and whola it worked.

So that tells me that something is wrong with my pc. This is the first time I have used my sata ports on this board so I do not know if they work. I went into my bios and made sure all the sata ports are enabled and all the raid stuff as well.
Will a bios update maybe help?

I have a Gigabyte MB GA-K8N51GMF-9
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cpu
and a 500 watt psu

I have even changed out the sata data cables and still nothing.

Any help will be appreciated.
The most likely cause is that your bios can not recognise the drive.
Best solution is buy a Sata external H/D for a few $ and use it has an external drive because windows will recognise it straight away.

If this option isn't pleasing. You could always try and search to see if there is a bios update. This may enable it to recognise such a large drive.
You are running XP then i assume?
If so you can get software to deal with sata no problems at all.
Are you running XP?
yes xp pro 32bit.

I found a bios update and I will try it tonight.

Thanks for your help
I will keep you posted
Thanks allot you guys!!!

Upgraded the bios from f2 to f8 and no problems!!

Thanks again

You have to update your driver's, I suggest you download "Genius Driver 10" that will fix your errors.
