I don't really need emotional support, I just need to vent.
Why are people so self-centered and greedy, why are they jealous and small-minded.
I'm not trying to gloat, but I own a semi-successful forum for it's age. It's only 2 months old with over 300 posts a day, 300+ members and around 2k page views a day. I'm happy with it's progress.
Now, some guy decides to come on my forum and threaten us with permanent downtime unless we pay him a $150 USD prepaid visa.
I can handle all this, but I want to know, why are people so ignorant and selfish? What did I do wrong?
I'm just someone trying to run a forum for the benefit of my members, I don't even make money off it.
There are assholes everywhere. Who is this guy? Is the threatening to DDos you, or is it your host?
He is jealous of your success, but good luck with your forum.

You may well be surprised to know. I currently have some of the WORST members on the net for bringing sites and entire domains down. I am not kidding mate. Its about approach. You look like a kid. You will be treated like one.

I understand the implications lets say someone wants to come to my forum and post child porn then get secondary account and reply to it then get a screener of it and notify every authority under the sun.
Perhaps modifying date of post etc.
Been done to me and failed.

What works for some may not work for others.
Well all I can say is that some people use their skills for evil and some use them for good. Regardless if he's actually being serious or not he decided to use the bad side of his skills. Comic books are not always where good and evil stands you know. It's them knowing they have the power, they're making who knows how much/day, and they feel more confident then they should. Like DAMINK™ said report them to your host.
Been there, done that. I know what to do, I was just interested in your views on why people act in such a matter.

I don't approach like a kid. I'm calm, because I'm self learning human psychology and I'm not bad at it. I calmly talk with people lol.
