Well, I know some folks here at SF are from various different countries, so I figured I should ask:
What different regional accents are in your country?
For the US, the is the people in the Minnesota area that talk really strange, then there's the Yankees/Yanks that talk northern, and the southerners that talk twangy.
I'm southern, so go figure.
Well there's people from the north. Like northeners, then people from London. People from the midlands and from the south.
I have a southern accent:

I don't get out much. (As in I don't travel) So, in my mind I talk 'normal.' But I'm guessing I'm "northern." I live in NY.

Funny you consider someone a "yank" still. That's very southern. No one in the north would ever consider themselves a "yank". People in MN are from the "midwest" and the accent in MN, Iowa, and Wisconsin are all similar. It's actually a combination of Netherlands with the Native Americans.
