But lets assume 40 members thanked King right now for this post.
The audience would look at his post as being important.
OK in this example that would not work because its about the button itsself.
But if lets say King posted a cracker php tutorial and it was gold.
He could get 500 thanks for the post but only have 10 rep because he is a but head..... (not true i like King) in the rest of the forums.
It could be added side by side to the rep system without to much trouble.

I think this would be useful, although it's not a "must update" thing it would certainly be good.

Well, I personally think it's a good idea. As it is a support forum it would be a great way for users to be able to thank those who help or 'support' them. It would most likely get abused but that's why we've got Sam. ;)
I think we can all agree this would be a good idea, I even would like the thanks button myself because I do have some LQ posts with a thank you.
